Fundamentals of Dental Photography in High Definition with Dr. Richard Stevenson, Chair of the Division of Restorative Dentistry at the UCLA School of Dentistry demonstrates the techniques for using a DSLR camera, macro lens, ring flash, mirrors and retractors to take a basic series of six dental photographs. The series is comprised of the profile shot, two extraoral shots of the smile ("E" vigorous smile and the "Emma" smile in repose, at rest) and three intraoral photos (retracted view, maxillary occlusal and mandibular occlusal photos). Dr. Stevenson also demonstrates how to take (and how not to take) intraoral quadrant photos with a "P" shaped mirror and artistic dental photos with a black contrastor.
